Terms of Use

Hey Chat Transcript Backup is a personal macOS utility. These terms describe use of the local transcript archive and optional Google Drive connection.

Control your recording

Use the tool only for speech and material you are entitled to record, store and back up. You control listening, transcript saving and the Google account you connect. Consider other people who may be within microphone range.

Recognition and backups

Speech recognition can be inaccurate or incomplete. Timestamps are approximate. Backups depend on local settings, external power, network access and Google availability. Keep another copy of anything important; this utility does not guarantee that every spoken word will be captured or backed up.

Google connection

Google Drive is optional. It uses the limited file permission described in the Privacy Policy. You can revoke access at any time in your Google Account. Existing files remain until you delete them.

Availability

This personal tool may change or become unavailable. This website does not offer a paid subscription, a hosted recording account or a public app download.
